Core functions of Ledger hardware wallets
Ledger hardware wallets keep your private keys secure within the device. Under normal circumstances, asset management, receiving funds, and sending transactions all require confirmation on the device itself.
Transfer from Exchange to Ledger
Before transferring from exchanges like OKX or Binance to Ledger, first add the corresponding cryptocurrency and network account in Ledger Wallet / Ledger Live. Then copy the receiving address generated by Ledger to initiate the withdrawal. Do not mix different networks arbitrarily; for example:USDT-TRC20 corresponds to the Tron/TRX network, USDT-ERC20 to the Ethereum network, and USDT-BEP20 to the BNB Smart Chain network.When withdrawing from the exchange, ensure the selected network matches the network of your Ledger receiving address. Selecting the wrong network may prevent funds from arriving or result in loss.
Activate Ledger USDT-TRC20 Mainnet
If you are using the USDT-TRC20 / TRX network, please ensure your address has a small amount of TRX for account activation, network resource usage, and transaction fees. TRC20 transfers consume TRX as per Tron network rules; this is not an additional fee charged by Ledger. If your account lacks sufficient TRX, you may be unable to withdraw USDT-TRC20 or the transaction may fail.
Suggested first transfer
When transferring assets from an exchange to Ledger for the first time, avoid sending large amounts directly. Instead, perform a small test transfer first to confirm that funds arrive correctly, the network is selected properly, and the receiving address is accurate before proceeding with larger transfers. Before withdrawing from the exchange, verify the receiving address shown in Ledger Wallet or Ledger Live, and double-check that it matches exactly on your Ledger hardware device screen. Always rely on the address displayed on the hardware device as the final confirmation.
Initializing new device
On first use of a new device, the user must complete the initial setup themselves, including setting a PIN, generating 24 mnemonic phrases, and completing the backup. Do not use a device pre-configured by someone else, and do not use mnemonic phrases provided by others. Before resetting the device, ensure your mnemonic phrases are fully, accurately, and securely backed up; otherwise, you may be unable to recover your assets.
Common Issues & Solutions
If you encounter issues such as assets not displaying, device connection failures, firmware update errors, abnormal transfers, or the app failing to open, please contact customer support for assistance. Assets not showing do not necessarily mean they are lost; this could be due to network nodes, account addition, chain selection, software version, or on-chain confirmation status. Do not perform any uncertain operations until the issue is resolved.

Deposit Time Details
Blockchain transfer times vary based on network congestion, transaction fees, exchange verification, and on-chain confirmation speed. If the exchange shows the withdrawal as processed but your Ledger hasn't received it yet, check the transaction status via a blockchain explorer before retrying.
